15th Annual Ohio River Paddlefest
Saturday, August 6, 2016
Paddlesports enthusiasts are invited to participate in the 15th Annual Ohio River Paddlefest, America’s largest paddling trip.
The new 8.9 mile Ohio River Paddlefest course begins at Schmidt Field in Cincinnati’s East End and ends at the Gilday Park in Riverside.
Paddlers can camp Friday, August 5 at Schmidt Recreation Complex. The 2016 Paddlefest features free parking, boat drop off & pick up, and shuttle bus ride back to vehicles.
The 2016 Ohio River Paddlefest course will pass under 7 Cincinnati bridges and along downtown Cincinnati. Paddlers can explore the Licking River & the Mill Creek (to the barrier dam), then relax at the Covington, KY Half Way Celebration. A Finish Line Festival will include food trucks, beer, music & vendors.
If the Coast Guard deems the waters unsafe on August 6, Paddlefest will be rescheduled for the following Saturday, August 13.
The 2016 Ohio River Paddlefest is being sponsored by Outdoor Adventure Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, a non-profit organization connecting inner city teens to nature and the outdoors year round.
Paddlefest proceeds will support the work of OACGC in 20 area high schools in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
